In January of 2012, Schaeffer Auditorium will undergo a major renovation. A complete overhaul of the auditorium will be in order, as well as an addition that will add much needed space for the Department of Music to rehearse and teach. A very special part of this renovation is the addition of the Richard G. Wells Rehearsal Room. This 2,500 square foot space will be a state of the art rehearsal space capable of handling all that the department can throw at it, even an indoor KUMU rehearsal! Mr. Wells has been such an iconic, driving force at Kutztown, it is only fitting that the room be named in his honor.
This blog has been created to chronicle the events and keep the GOBs updated on the building project as it unfolds. Special events associated with the building project will also be announced here. Check back often to see how the project is going and about upcoming special events that will take place during the building process.
In the upcoming edition of the Tower Magazine, there will be an entire article dedicated to Mr. Wells and the building project. Keep an eye out for this publication as this is the first public announcement of the building project.
